Ingredients
-
1 lb fresh mozzarella, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
-
3–4 ripe tomatoes, preferably heirloom or vine-ripened, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
-
¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-
2–3 tbsp That’s Italy Balsamic Glaze
-
½ cup fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Slice the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes into even, uniform rounds to create a visually appealing presentation.
- Wash and dry the fresh basil leaves. Set aside.
- On a large serving plate or platter, arrange the slices of mozzarella and tomato in an alternating pattern (e.g., mozzarella, tomato, mozzarella, tomato) to form a neat circular or linear layout.
- Tuck a fresh basil leaf between each layer of mozzarella and tomato for both flavor and decoration.
- Drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil evenly over the entire salad, ensuring each slice gets a light coating.
- Drizzle Balsamic Glaze in a zig-zag or circular pattern over the top of the salad for a tangy, sweet touch.
- Sprinkle the salad lightly with salt and freshly cracked black pepper, if desired, to enhance the flavors of the tomatoes and mozzarella.
- For a finishing touch, scatter a few additional whole basil leaves around the plate.
- Serve immediately as a light appetizer, side dish, or part of an antipasti spread.
